On August 19, 2023, the Peachtree Mall Security received a tip from an unknown individual at the mall of a subject wanted for murder in Columbus, Ga. The supervisor on duty, Sgt. A. Moore, contacted the dispatcher J. Hackney, after receiving a description of the subject and his location. The Dispatcher began looking for the suspect via CCTV and was able to locate the subject. Off-duty police were contacted while K-9 Hank and Officer Brandon Fossett tracked the subject from a safe distance. The subject was apprehended by off-duty Columbus policemen working the property. The subject was taken into custody without incident.
